Privacy Policy
This explains what Gage collects and how we use it.
What we collect
Your name, username, and mobile phone number, the answers you submit in the game, your approximate location (city and region) derived from your IP address, a device token (if you use our iOS app) so we can send you push notifications, and — if you opt in — your phone contacts (see below).
How we use your location
We use the approximate, city-level location estimated from your IP address to suggest people near you. We don’t collect precise GPS location.
How we use your phone number
To send SMS verification codes (delivered via Twilio), to send occasional account notifications such as follow requests, and to help friends find you. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We don’t sell your phone number, and we don’t share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Finding friends from contacts
If you choose to find friends from your contacts in our iOS app, we upload and store your contacts’ phone numbers. We use them to show you friends already on Gage, to suggest people who may know you, and to notify you when someone in your contacts joins. We never call, text, or otherwise message your contacts, and we don’t sell them. Contact us to delete your stored contacts.
Your choices
You can turn off account notification texts anytime in Settings, reply STOP to stop all texts (including verification), turn off push notifications in your device settings, and contact us to access or delete your data.
See our Terms of Service.
